World Series of Poker* at Bodog

2010 World Series of Poker Tournament in Las Vegas

2010 WSOP

As the 2010 World Series of Poker draws to a close, Team Bodog will remember it fondly, as seven members of our nearly fifty strong team walked away in the money. While there is no Team Bodog member in the November Nine, we could not be more proud of the team's success, with over 15% of the players walking away with a huge payday. Team Bodog members who finished in the money at the WSOP main event this year were – Randy Lorensen (VikesWin2), Thomas Konopasek (HandySnacks), Justin Calderaro (Lesly_Roag), Dennis Scott (dgs), Eric Liu (draizen), Greg Schaefer (gman07140), and our very own poker pro Evelyn Ng.

Before Day 1A, Bodog hosted one of our world-famous socials at PURE, a fantastic nightclub located in Caesars Palace. An open bar, great hostesses, and appearances from the entire team were among the highlights, along with a brand new cocktail created just for the event, the Bodog Royal Flush. If you want to make the Royal Flush at home, simply muddle three grapes and two limes, shake it with a “player's measure” of Ciroc Vodka and pour over ice for a slightly-sweet and tangy drink that you can enjoy anytime.

As the statistics on the Main Event attest, the first day features a lot of attrition and the nearly-fifty strong Team Bodog was no exception, losing nineteen players over Days 1A-1D. Days two through four saw the rest fall, with the seven in-the-money players holding it down at the beginning of day five. However, the biggest Bodog success story doesn't come from Evelyn Ng or our big-money winner Greg Schaefer. It all centers around a factory supervisor from Midland, Michigan, Dennis Scott. Dennis went into Day 5 with a modest stack of 127,000 chips, placing him right in the middle of the field, but even if he didn't hit the huge payouts that Day 6 offered, he was going to have one of the best returns on investment in the history of the game.

Dennis entered into a $1 satellite event in Bodog's Main Event 2010 tournament series and found himself laddering up, a textbook example of how our promotions can work for players savvy enough to play well over several tournaments.

That single dollar investment earned him over $27,000 and a trip to Vegas with Bodog. After cashing out of the event, the online player quipped “It's been a very good time. Bodog has treated me very well. Vegas has been great but I'm ready to go home now,” and if you've ever experienced the hubbub of the WSOP, you can completely sympathize with him.

For your own shot at winning big money with Bodog, check out our 100K tournament that runs every Sunday. With qualifiers starting for as little as $1, and a top prize of at least $20,000, this tournament represents a great opportunity to score your own big payday.
