Poker Tournament for Poker Bloggers
by Bodog Poker | Jul 24 2009
The
WSOP has been providing media professionals the opportunity to strut their poker stuff for the charity of their choice by hosting their annual Media Event every year before the Main Event begins.
Bodog Poker has their own version of a media tournament, but instead of poker industry reporters and cameramen the Bodog media event is for online bloggers. The tournament is open to any poker bloggers or any legitimate gaming or sports-related blogs. Final dates have not been nailed down yet, but the events are likely to be played at some point in September.
The schedule for the event is dependant on how many bloggers enroll to play. Bloggers have to first apply for enrollment, and then must be approved and qualified for the event. All applicants will receive notice on whether they qualified to play in the event, and once registration has been decided dates for the tournaments will be determined. Events will run every Tuesday night at 9:05 EST and tournament results and updates will be provided via The Bodog Beat. Entry into the
Blogger tournament will cost only $10 + $1, so any level of blogger can afford to get in on the action.
If you have a blog and would like to play some poker you can register to play at this address:

http://poker.bodog.com/tournaments/ and you'll have an easy time registering to play. Last year the champions from each event played off in the Tournament of Champions for $2K in cash and another $100 in online cash credit. Last year's big winner was "TonySoprano", who beat out "wilwonka" in the heads-up match and won bragging rights for a year.
Again this year, "Smokkee" from pokeraffiction.com will be hosting the events via internet radio. Players will be able to tune in as they play to get info on the event as it's going on. Organizers have also set up a Twitter page to update the event and provide any news related to the Blogger event. Follow this link:

The
Bodog Poker Blogger tournament will also have a few surprises along the way this year. Special bounty players and guests will periodically show up to play in some events, offering players a bonus if they can capture a bounty by knocking out one of the profile players. One thing is for sure, popularity is growing for this event every year and this year is sure to be the biggest yet. Don't wait to apply for your seat in the tournament; it's only a few short weeks until play begins.
